Troy graduated from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia with his Bachelors in Kinesiology and Business Administration. During his time at Acadia, Troy was a member of the men’s football team and graduated with Academic All-Canadian honours. Upon graduating, Troy returned home and began working for a mutual fund distribution company in Toronto which grew into an opportunity in Vancouver to work with financial advisors across British Columbia. During this time, he found satisfaction in helping advisors find cost-effective and appropriate solutions for their clients, and in doing so he determined that he was more interested in helping the clients succeed than the advisors. This realization led Troy to the team at Upper Canada Wealth Management, where the group places their clients’ success above all else.
Troy’s investment philosophy centres around risk mitigation and ensuring that clients can sleep at night knowing their money is being held in a safe manner which addresses their long-term goals. Troy has continued to educate himself and has completed numerous courses through the Canadian Securities Institute which led to him to obtaining his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation.
Outside of the office you can find Troy spending time in the gym training for an upcoming Ironman triathlon, camping with friends and family, or cheering for his favourite football team.
