I graduated from McMaster University with a bachelor’s degree in arts and a bachelor’s degree in physical education. I then completed my bachelor’s degree in education and began my career as a secondary school teacher. My primary focus was on physical education and mathematics where I enjoyed my years of leading young minds and spirits. After 18 years of teaching, I decided to leave my role of educating youth and move into the field of finance, where I still enjoy teaching people about investments, the markets and the importance of saving for their future. I obtained my CFP designation in January 2001, my CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) in 2004 and my CDFA (Certified Divorce Financial Analyst) in 2004. As a strong believer in the power of education, I continuously attend courses and conferences to stay informed on events happening in the world, with the markets and the impact this has on my client’s financial future.
